Case Studies by Application Area¶
Clinical Research: Stroke Biomarker Panel¶
A multi-center study across 5 university hospitals used Solarbio IL-6 (SEKH-0013), TNF-α (SEKH-0019), and VEGF (SEKH-0036) ELISA kits to measure inflammatory markers in 480 ischemic stroke patients within 24 h of onset. IL-6 levels >15 pg/mL (Solarbio assay) predicted 90-day poor outcome (modified Rankin Score >2) with 83% sensitivity and 76% specificity. The study was published in Journal of Neuroinflammation (2024) and established a three-cytokine panel for early prognosis.
Drug Discovery: Kinase Inhibitor Screening¶
A pharmaceutical R&D team screened 25,000 compounds against a panel of 12 recombinant kinases using Solarbio ATP Detection Assay (BC2135) and ADP Assay (BC2140) in a 384-well format. The luminescence-based assay achieved Z′ factors >0.75 across all targets, with 1.5% CV for replicate wells. Seven novel lead compounds with IC₅₀ <50 nM were identified, advancing two candidates into preclinical ADME profiling using Solarbio CYP450 Inhibition Kits (BC4760, BC4770, BC4780).
Food Safety: Multi-Mycotoxin Surveillance¶
A national food safety reference laboratory deployed Solarbio Aflatoxin B1 (SEKF-0001), Ochratoxin A (SEKF-0005), and Zearalenone (SEKF-0020) ELISA kits to screen 2,500 cereal and feed samples from 12 provinces. The surveillance program detected AFB1 exceeding EU MRL (2 µg/kg) in 3.8% of maize samples, Ochratoxin A >5 µg/kg in 1.2% of wheat samples. Solarbio kit results showed >95% concordance with LC-MS/MS confirmatory analysis (n = 120 positive samples).
Agricultural Biotech: Salt-Tolerant Rice Breeding¶
An agricultural research institute used Solarbio Plant DNA Extraction Kit (D1600) and 2×Taq MasterMix (PC1100) to genotype 2,000 F₂ progeny from a cross between salt-sensitive (IR64) and salt-tolerant (Pokkali) rice varieties. Using SSR markers RM493 (chromosome 1, linked to SalTol QTL) and RM223 (chromosome 8), they identified 147 lines homozygous for the salt-tolerance haplotype. Nine elite lines advanced to multi-location field trials showed 40–60% higher grain yield under 100 mM NaCl irrigation compared to IR64 controls. Proline (BC0095) and MDA (BC0025) assays confirmed reduced oxidative stress markers in selected lines.
